Privacy Policy
This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information Gladstone Skip Bins collects when you contact us or request a quote, how we use it, and who we share it with. We handle your information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Last updated July 2026.
Who We Are
Gladstone Skip Bins arranges skip bin hire across Gladstone, Tannum Sands, Boyne Island, Calliope, Benaraby and the surrounding region. When you book, your job is carried out by a local licensed skip bin operator we work with — so some of the details you give us are passed to that operator to deliver and collect your bin. This policy covers the information we collect through this website and by phone.
What We Collect
We only collect what we need to give you a quote and arrange a bin. That usually means:
- Your name — so we know who we're quoting for.
- Your phone number and any email — so we can reply with a price and confirm delivery.
- Your suburb or delivery address — so we can price the run and get the bin to the right place.
- Details of your job — the bin size, waste type and rough volume you tell us.
We don't ask for sensitive information, and you should not send us payment card numbers or identity documents through the quote form. If a booking proceeds, any payment is arranged separately and securely with the operator fulfilling your job.
How We Use Your Information
We use the details you provide to prepare your quote, answer your questions, arrange delivery and pickup of your bin, and follow up about that specific booking. We may also keep a record of the enquiry for our own accounts and to help if you contact us again. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.
Who We Share It With
The main sharing is straightforward: to actually deliver your skip, we pass the details of your job — your name, contact number, address and what you need — to the local skip bin provider who fulfils the booking. That provider uses the information only to quote, deliver, collect and invoice your job. We may also share information where the law requires it, or with service providers who help us run this website (for example, form and hosting providers) under confidentiality arrangements. We do not disclose your details to anyone else.
Storage and Security
We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure and to protect it from misuse, loss or unauthorised access. Enquiry details are held only as long as needed for the booking and our record-keeping obligations, and are then removed or de-identified. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect the information you send us.
Cookies and Website Analytics
This website may use basic cookies and analytics to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are viewed — so we can improve it. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can set your browser to refuse cookies; the site will still work.
Your Rights — Access and Correction
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it's wrong, or ask us to delete your enquiry details. Just call 1300 000 000 or use our contact page and we'll help. There's no charge to ask.
Complaints
If you're concerned about how your information has been handled, please contact us first so we can put it right. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au, which oversees the Privacy Act.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version always lives on this page, with the "last updated" date above. If you have any questions about how we handle your information, get in touch — we're happy to explain.
